Some will list vehicles for sale that have already been sold at incredibly low prices just to convince you to drive to their dealership. Even if you call to confirm availability in advance, that vehicle seems to sell just before you get there.....but they have similar vehicles for just a bit more money that are available.
Even more troubling, many dealers will provide online quotes for new vehicles that sound like unbelievable bargains.....until you drive to the dealership to see the car. Many online quotes from competing dealerships do not include high dealer added fees for very low cost equipment and services. Normally, it is referred to as a dealer "value package". In effect, they can artificially inflate an online quote by as much as several thousand dollars when you actually try to buy the car, completely wasting your time with a quote that wasn't real to begin with.
