2021 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford F-150

Serving Richardson, TX

The F-150 brings many changes to the F-150 family in 2021, and it also brings many changes to its class of trucks. Ford has traditionally led the way in many vehicle innovations, and this year is no exception. Marking a new era, the Ford F-150 is newly offered with a hybrid powertrain in 2021. This addition makes it the first fully electric truck on the market. The F-150 debuts with many other "firsts," including the fact that it's the first truck offering hands-free driving assistance on the highway. There are some new appearance features in store for the 2021 F-150, too, along with some changes to its cabin that make it more futuristic and appealing to passengers in both rows.

Performance

One of the most anticipated updates for the Ford F-150 in 2021 is its new performance offerings. The Ford F-150 still has some of the top tow ratings in its class, but now it offers exceptional towing power with the chance to maximize fuel economy as well. The 2021 year brings hybrid technology to the F-150 family. The F-150 takes the same potent gasoline-powered V6 engine from the 2020 model year and adds a lithium battery-powered electric motor to the mix. Together, the engine and motor create over 400 HP. The 2021 F-150 also has an available diesel engine available on select trims in 2020, and it shares the same base engine as its predecessor. The 2021 Ford F-150 has a maximum towing capacity that exceeds 13,200 pounds.

Appearance

The 2021 model year also brings in some new appearance changes for the F-150. This year, the F-150 parts with its traditionally boxy and square shape. The 2021 F-150 is available in three body styles and multiple trim levels like the 2020 model. However, this year, the F-150 gets a more polished look with multi-dimensional contours and softer edges replacing the truck's previously linear design. LED headlights are more prominent in 2021, and there are more chrome touches around the exterior for a contemporary look.

Features

An abundance of features are added to the Ford F-150 in 2021. This year, the F-150 has a standard 8.0-inch touchscree, which is the most massive base-level screen offered in its class, and there’s also an available larger 12.0-inch touchscreen interface. Previously, the 2020 model came standard with an eight-inch display screen. The 2021 F-150 packs more safety features along with new technology, including hands-free driving assistance for highway driving and a now-standard Co-Pilot360 safety suite.
