What's New for the 2024 Ford Mustang?

The Ford Mustang has maintained its status as the ultimate pony car over many decades, and it launches its seventh generation in 2024 with exciting improvements throughout the interior and exterior. Except for the front pillars and roof, all of the panels on the 2024 Ford Mustang have been updated. The new look features a fastback-style, robust profile with strongly flared rear bumpers. The rocker panels are crisply creased and angled to express forward momentum. The hood swells smoothly before cascading into the reshaped grille. This grille is designed with side pillars and is set in a molded element. This molding runs underneath the three-bar LED headlights. A pair of angled pillars accentuate the wide, short bumper.

The 2024 Mustang's cabin has been modernized with a fresh dashboard design. Both the driver's digital instruments and the infotainment system screen are mounted in the same glass housing. Below this unit in the center stack, the chrome-accented, rectangular air vents for the auto climate control system sit atop the sound system's interface. While the display screens are larger than the 2023 model year's screens, the other features are unchanged. These impressive features include a wireless internet connection, remote vehicle monitoring, leather upholstery, a high-grade audio system, ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a heated steering wheel, sport seats, and others. The Mustang is also outfitted with several safety technologies across all trims. These are lane keeping assistance, a rear cross-traffic sensor, a blind-spot monitor, and forward collision sensing with mitigation. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control.

The base-level EcoBoost trim draws 310 horsepower from a 2.3-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine. A high-performance variant of this turbo engine that generates 332 horsepower is offered, and it features an active exhaust, paddle shifters, upgraded brakes, a sports suspension, and an upgraded rear differential. A V8, 5.0-liter, 450-horsepower engine is also available, and it features rev-matched downshifts, upgraded brakes, and a limited-slip differential. A 470-horsepower variation of this powertrain is standard in the top trim level and mates with additional mechanical features.
