While summer brings sunny days to mind, it is also true that the season tends to be wetter for states like Texas which border the Gulf of Mexico. With rain comes many challenges too, especially when it comes to driving. That is why North Central Ford would like to remind our friends and neighbors to be alert and implement safe driving habits at all times.
As detailed in the video, the rain can cause an array of obstacles ranging anywhere from low visibility to loss of traction. Sometimes, the results can be disastrous. That is why it is important to know how to respond when driving through a downpour. For starters, we suggest avoiding such a situation entirely if possible. However, if such a situation is unavoidable, then remember to turn on your regular headlights and defroster. Be sure to drive at slow speeds as well. In doing so, you will have a clearer view of the road and more time to respond to oncoming difficulties. Do your best to avoid moving water or deep puddles as well so that you can reduce your chances of hydroplaning.
Your primary goal should always be to get to your destination safely, not faster. Should you need help maintaining your car to prepare for upcoming adverse weather, feel free to stop by our Service Center as well. Our technicians will make sure your tires, headlights, taillights, and other components are all in working out there.
Stay safe out there, Richardson drivers!
